Microcrystalline wax is a type of wax composed mainly of N-paraffinic hydrocarbons, along with smaller amounts of iso-paraffinic, naphthenic, and aromatic hydrocarbons. It typically contains hydrocarbons with carbon numbers ranging from 31 to 50. Commercial microcrystalline wax has a molecular weight ranging from 450 to 700. It appears as light yellow crystals and has a higher melting point and viscosity compared to paraffin wax.
